Can the past save you?An Englishman's home used to be his castle. But in 2084 Nugent Walker looks around the sewer & sighs contentedly. In a country ravaged by war it is easy to become invisible when your life revolves around such a forbidding place. And just as easy to ignore your own history. Now Nugent's safe haven is threatened by the one thing he truly loves - his daughter. As she fights the system, Nugent is forced into the open and must confront what he has tried so hard to forget. Message from the Chairman
"Rats all folks!"
As the curtain falls on another DTIR production I'd like to add my own praise to the great wave of compliments that has greeted "Rats". From Andy Potter's generous "crit" in The Telegraph to audience feedback and from long-serving group members to recent recruits the response has been unanimously positive. We didn't break any box office records, but attendance figures were perfectly respectable and programme sales helped to swell the coffers.
Chris has asked me to pass on his personal thanks to everyone involved with the production and to those who supported by turning up at the Playhouse. I would like to add to that by thanking Chris himself, and Jenny, for the many, many hours they put into the production themselves (and for playing hosts to the excellent after-show party!!). Well done to everyone who made "Rats" yet another memorable Derby Theatre in the Round production.
